In this series we take a closer look on selected new initiatives that shape the vivid art scenes of Vienna, Zurich and Berlin.
Laurenz is an exhibition space run by Monika Georgieva and Aaron Amar Bhamra. Laurenz began in a space in 2020 located on the ground floor of Aaron’s studio building, which used to be a piano maker’s workshop, then shifted to a one-off exhibition in their 35m² apartment showing 51 artists, to several nomadic exhibitions and now to their permanent space in an old horse stable on the Linke Wienzeile next to the legendary Cafe Savoy. On a late summer evening, Monika and Aaron met with Anna Hugo at Laurenz’ courtyard to speak about the next chapter in having this new location they are curating and sharing.
